Other Ways to
Join in Our Mission
You needn't
travel to the other side of the world to join us in our mission of helping
children! There's plenty you can do right from at home.
Make GoodSearch.com your home page and ask
your friends and family to do so too.
Each time you use the search engine on GoodSearch.com, NCLO earns a few
pennies. It's not much but the more people we have using their Yahoo-powered
search engine, the more funds NCLO receives! Be sure to select NCLO from the
list of charities.
Donate unused frequent flyer miles.
Your miles allow us to take donations to these children, coordinate efforts
with our in-country team members, and help to carry out the mission of NCLO.
Contact us to learn how to put your miles to work for the children.
Donate the proceeds from a can and bottle
collection fundraiser.
Ask your employer if they would be willing to donate a month's worth of the
funds collected from the recycling bins.
Sell on Ebay!
NCLO is an official Ebay recognized charity.
If you list an item for sale on Ebay, you can select NCLO to receive
all or a portion of the proceeds from your auction. All you have to
do to get started is to go to
www.missionfish.org (Ebay's giving
works organization). There you will find a link to click on to Sell
Your Item. You'll be re-routed to Ebay where you can then list your
item in basically the same fashion as you are accustomed. Just be
sure that when it asks you if you'd like to allocate a portion of
your proceeds to a charity that you select the appropriate
percentage and NCLO from the list.
Donate an old car, boat or
truck.
Donate your vehicle to NCLO through
www.carshelpingamerica.org or call 1-866-949-3668. It's free for
you to get rid of the vehicle, you get the tax right off, and NCLO
receives the proceeds from the sale of your vehicle at auction.
Donate an old laptop computer
or ask your employer if they would be willing to donate the
business' older laptops.
NCLO uses older laptop computers to
teach computer and E-Pal skills to the children in our programs. Our
only requirements are that the computers be in working condition
and have a USB port.
Collect and donate old cell
phones.
CollectiveGood (www.collectivegood.com)
will recycle cell phones, pagers, and PDAs in a responsible manner
and send the proceeds to NCLO if you mention our name in conjunction
with your donated items.
Have a home party.
Do
you have friends always asking you to host one of their Pampered
Chef, Tupperware, Creative Memories, Mary Kay or other home-based
parties? Tell them you'll oblige if a certain percentage of the
funds are donated to NCLO.
Make a donation instead of
shopping for that perfect Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparents
Day, Birthday, Anniversary, etc. gift.
Just let us know that your donation is in honor of a special event
and we'll send a certificate of appreciation for the honoree.
Have a neighborhood or family
garage or basement sale.
Be sure to let us know and we'll send you an official "All for
Charity" sign you can print off and post at your sale. Then, send
the proceeds to NCLO.
Set aside your daily change
for change.
Take a tin can, large coffee mug,
small box or other container and every night, toss in your change.
When the container is full, take it to your bank and send a check
for the proceeds to NCLO. This is a perfect activity for children as
well.
Ask your clubs,
organizations, businesses, and children's schools to do a fundraiser
event for NCLO.
Something as simple as a "Jeans
Day" donation (where people pay a set amount on a Friday to be able
to wear jeans to work and the funds are donated to charity) can make
a huge difference in the lives of children.
Ask your church to donate a
portion of an offering to NCLO.
Be
sure to download our
NCLO
Fact Sheet for them to hand out, post, or place in their
newsletter.
Make a memorial, bequest, or
endowment to NCLO.
These type donations can have an
ongoing, long term positive impact on children's lives.
Distribute NCLO Fact Sheets
to friends, family, co-workers, and businesses.
Our
NCLO Fact Sheet
gives an overview of who we are, what we do, and how people can
help. The more people that learn about NCLO and want to get
involved, the more children we can help.
